Jerry Vale Studio albums
Many of his Italian songs covers were featured in the soundtracks to movies directed by Martin Scorsese that included 'Goodfellas' (1990) and 'Casino' (1995), both of which feature cameo appearances by Vale playing himself. Jerry Vale was later portrayed by Steven Van Zandt in 'The Irishman' (2019), another Scorsese-directed film featuring. Jerry Vale's beautiful high-tenor voice graced many of the most enchanting pop songs of the '50s and '60s, including a parade of Italian-American favorites like 'Innamorata (Sweetheart),' 'Volare,' 'Amore, Scusami,' and his signature song, 'Al Di La.' Vale, born Genaro Louis Vitaliano in 1932, learned the Italian repertoire from an early age; his mother often sang around the house and trotted. Gambling can mean the difference between life and death in this 'Casino' (1995). The inner workings of a corrupt Las Vegas casino are exposed in director Martin Scorsese's brilliant story of crime and punishment. Robert De Niro plays Sam 'Ace' Rothstein, the Jewish front man for one of the mob's premiere Vegas casinos in the 1970s.
His autobiography, A Singer's Life, was published in 2000 by Celebrity Profiles, Long Island, New York. He made cameo appearances as himself in the 1990 film 'Goodfellas' and the 1995 film 'Casino' Jerry passed away in 2014 and is interred at Forest Lawn.
